Medical Services
In his famous 'Rameshwaram Lecture', Swami Vivekananda says, "He who sees Shiva in the poor, in the weak, and in the diseased, really worships Shiva; and if he sees Shiva only in the image, his worship is but preliminary." Yes, the Ramakrishna Order which was founded by Swami Vivekananda, tries to see The God in the poor, in the weak and in the diseased by serving them through various activities such as doing Relief works during and after natural calamities, medical services, etc. Sri Ramakrishna Math, Kanchipuram serves the 'Rogi Narayanas' i.e. "The God in the form of the diseased" in its own humble way. The following medical services are done.
General Medical Camps are arranged periodically in a month to serve the financially backward patients in rural areas.
2. Eye Camp
Free Eye Camps are arranged once in a month. The patients who are eligible for cataract surgery are sent to an eye hospital in Chennai.
